Creative fan community in the realm of Japanese pop culture
AniNite 2023: Anime und Manga Convention. Austria's largest convention for fans of Japanese youth and popular culture transformed the Austria Center Vienna into a dazzling multiverse. The aficionados were treated to a packed programme that set cosplayers' pulses racing.
The world of anime and manga
Thousands of cosplayers brought their favourite characters to life at AniNite 2023. Besides giving fans the chance to meet like-minded individuals, the convention offered a packed schedule featuring creative workshops and Japanese-language sessions, dance and short story competitions, and film screenings. Japanese snacks and a tea house delivered an authentic taste of the land of the rising sun.
A well-thought-out spatial concept
The numerous stands transformed the two exhibition halls into a colourful marketplace with costumes, makeup supplies, arts and crafts materials, homemade merchandise and even a food court complete with food trucks. The rooms and halls on Level -2 were used to stage shows, lectures and game areas, rounding out an awesome AniNite spectacle hosted by the Austria Center Vienna.
